Lotus today unveiled the race-ready Emira sports car, following an announcement made two days ago. The Emira GT4 makes its debut at the Hethel track, where it will perform a dynamic demonstration of how it can handle the circuit. The Lotus Type 30, a 1965 Lotus Type 30 race car, will be accompanied by the Ford-sourced 4.7-liter V8 motor. The modern version of the engine is a 3.5-liter V6. A six-point, FIA-homologated roll cage keeps the cabin safe in the event of a crash. The car is supported by a bonded extruded aluminum chassis and composite body panels. This helps to keep its weight at 2,866 pounds (1.300 kilograms).
The Lotus Advanced Performance division launched the Emira GT4 as its first model. It was established earlier this year as the motorsport and experimental arm.
