The Suzuki Vision Gran Turismo, an old but new virtual race car, joins the 2021 Toyota GR010 Hybrid (pictured in the second photo gallery) and the Roadster Shop RAMpage Camaro (pictured in the third photo gallery). The GSX-4/4 concept was used in 2001 , but it has been completely updated to meet current trends. Technically, the two-seat speedster is mid-engined as the ICE sits between two axles, behind front wheels.
Instead of borrowing an engine from a car it uses the high-revving, inline-four from the Hayabusa sport bike. Three electric motors drive the 1.3-liter mill, one at each the front and one at the back. This gives the Suzuki Vision Gran Turismo an All-Wheel Drive layout. The total output of the combined motors is 426 horsepower (318 Kilowatts) at a soaring 9,700 rpm. It also has a peak torque figure of 610 Newton-meters (405 pound-feet).
The hybrid machine is only 970 kg (2,138 lbs) in weight and has a design that clearly derives from the Swift Sport. The VGT’s latest version is basically a hot hatch that has been transformed into a roofless sports car. Gran Turismo’s official website reveals that a Gr.3 version is in the works.
Like the VGT cars it replaced, Suzuki’s digital creation is unlikely to be produced. It is hoped that a real car will soon be built and displayed at events like the Tokyo Auto Show. It is a significant improvement on the original, quirky concept that was created more than 20 years ago.
The Gran Turismo 7 is not only a trio new cars but also adds “New Orleans” to the featured section in Scapes. Download Update 1.15 right now.
