2022 Honda Civic Si Coming As A Sedan

It should be on sale in the fall.

Honda will offer a new generation Civic for the model year 2022. For the first time in many decades, the Civic Coupe has been discontinued and the model range won’t include a 2-door version. However, there will be a Civic Si model. It’s only going to be available in the sedan body.

Autoblog.com reports the Civic Sedan will only be available in Si trim. The Japanese company quickly confirmed the news to the publication. The rumor was first reported on the CivicXI forum before Honda confirmed it via Twitter. A Honda representative from the US confirmed the news later.

This means that you can get the Civic Hatchback as well as the Civic Sedan with manual transmissions. Honda already confirmed that the Honda Si will come with a manual transmission, and the Civic Hatchback will be available in nonSi form.

The Civic Si will once again fill the gap between regular Civic models, and the Range-topping Type R. This means that we will soon see the Si as well. According to leaked documents, the new Civic Si should be available at dealers in October, one month after the 2022 Civic Hatchback.

We know that both new Civic Si models and Civic Type R models will come exclusively with a manual transmission at least initially. This is a bit surprising considering current market trends. However, it’s likely that the automaker doesn’t have the financial resources to develop a new transmission for high-performance applications for low-volume models.
