The Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT is the first model to debut as the best performer in its class after set a cross-lap record at the Nuburgring Nordschleife. The car will be available in the USA in 2022. Prices start at $180,000. Plus a $1350 destination fee.
The Turbo GT is only available in the Cayenne Coupe body design. The 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 engine produces 631 horsepower (or 471 kilowatts) as well as 626 pound-feet (849 Newton meters). This engine is a lot more powerful than the Cayenne Coupe and has new parts such as the crankshaft, pistons and timing chain.
An eight-speed automatic transmission drives the power, with modifications to speed up shifts. The Porsche Traction Management system also has a water-cooled transfer box.
Turbo GT can reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.1 seconds. The quarter-mile is completed in 11.6 seconds and the Turbo GT can reach 186 mph (299 km/h).
The Turbo GT’s suspension is 17 millimeters (0.7 in) lower than the Cayenne Turbo Coupe. Depending on the mode selected, the three-chamber air suspension can be up to 15% stiffer. This sportier model also features tweaked tunings for tech such as active suspension management, dynamic control and torque vectoring.
The Cayenne Turbo Coupe is equipped with 22-inch wheels, which are 1.0 inches wider at the front. For better adhesion to the road, the vehicle comes with custom Pirelli P Zero Corsa Tires. Ceramic-composite brakes come standard and measure 440 millimeters (17.32 in) in the front and 410 Millimeters (16.14 in) at the back.
Cayenne Turbo GT gets a new front fascia, with larger intakes at the sides and a lower lip. Carbon fiber is used for the roof, rear diffuser cover and side plates of the rear wing. The adaptive spoiler is 2.0 inches (51 millimeters) in size, twice as large as the one found on the Cayenne Turbo Coupe.
Near the rear, a pair of oval-shaped exhaust tubes are visible. These pipes are made of titanium and have no center muffler. This allows the vehicle to be lighter by about 40 pounds (18.14 kg) than other models.
There are four seats inside, with a pair of back chairs and a couple of extras. The front ones are adjustable in eight ways. They all have contrasting Neodyme and Artic Grey stitching with contrast stitching in the center. Each headrest has “Turbo GT” embroidery. The steering wheel has a yellow strip at 12 o’clock.
