The total value of the 26 entries is more than $250 Million.
The Cavallino Classic hosted its 30th gathering earlier in the year. This event brought together some of the most rare and expensive Ferraris from Florida. Cavallino’s next 30th event in 2021 will not be the same, due to COVID and all its complexities. The event will have a second edition, which is the first in its history.
This Friday, July 2nd, the Concorso di Modena will begin in Modena (Italy), where Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari is buried. With 26 cars participating in the Concorso, this event is meant to honor Enzo Ferrari.
In the early 1990s, the Cavallino Classic event was under the control of Cavallino Magazine. Full disclosure: Cavallino Magazine as well as Canossa Events (which now operates the Cavallino Classic) are both part of Motorsport Network. This parent company is Motor1.com.
Modena’s weekend event, which takes place during the huge Motor Valley Fest in the region, will bring together Ferraris from four continents as well as participants. The 26 cars that have been registered thus far total more than $250 million. Many of them were restored in Modena, or within the Motor Valley. The entry list includes a Ferrari 166 MM Berlinetta Touring, a 1956 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta and a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO. There are also a number of classic models, including a 1967 Ferrari 275 P.
Luigi Orlandini, Canossa CEO and President, said that he had been “nursing” the idea of an Italian Concorso together with Cavallino Classic founder John Barnes. Casa Maria Luigia was chosen as the venue and the date was set for July 2. This was cheered by the top Ferrari collectors around the world. It runs through Sunday July 4th and is being held simultaneously with Motor Valley Fest, which is also taking place in Modena. Motor Valley Fest is July 1-4. Both events will bring many car enthusiasts to the region. Modena is the best place to be this weekend.
