Six-speed manual gearbox attached to a Coyote Nice.
The Ford Explorer Sports Trac did not live a long time. The Explorer SUV-based midsize truck was only available for two generations. It served as an alternative to the F-150, in the absence the Ford Ranger.
The Explorer’s unibody platform meant that the Sport Trac variants were no longer available. Production was halted in October 2010. Notable is the fact that the Explorer Sport Trac of the second generation was only available for three years. This is a bit surprising considering America’s love affair with pickup trucks.
We found one Explorer Sport Trac for sale on Cosmo Motors. However, it’s not your typical Explorer Sport Trac. It has the Adrenalin package which makes it look bigger than it is. It also has an engine swap. A 5.0-liter naturally-aspirated CoyoteV8 is housed in the truck’s hood. The engine was specifically designed for the Mustang GT.
These are the power figures. Although they weren’t listed on the listing, it is safe to assume that the truck produces over 400 horsepower and nearly 400 pound-feet torque. It’s also connected to a 6-speed manual gearbox which was removed from the Explorer Sport Trac.
Cosmo Motors has this unit on sale for $26,997 if you don’t mind its low stance and set of bronze Rosso wheels with Nittos. It also comes with over 100,000 miles. This is a very reasonable price considering that the build cost $20,000 according to the listing.
Cosmo Motors website has more information about the build. If you are interested in purchasing this truck, you can also reach them there.
