Weight is another factor that distinguishes Civic Touring from other vehicles. The Civic Touring is 3,077 pounds (1.396 kg). The Accord Sport weighs 3,223 pounds (1.462 kilograms). It is only 146 lbs (66.22 kgs) different.
The Accord Sport costs $27,430 plus a $995 destination charge. The Civic Touring costs $28,300 plus $995 destination.
The video begins with a drag race. They are very similar in terms of accleration, but the Accord pulls slightly ahead. At half-way, the Civic pulls ahead due to its lighter weight. The Civic takes the victory by one nose at the finish.
Next, we will race from a roll in second. The Accord’s extra torque gives it an edge, and the larger sedan pulls ahead. Although the Civic is making gains at the finish, there’s still not enough course to allow it to win another victory.
The Civic Touring is capable of holding its own against the 1.5-liter turbocharged Accord. The Si variant should be even more impressive. It may even be able give the Accord 2.0T serious competition.
