This unique Aston is pre-production.
Bell Sport & Classic is selling a unique aluminum-bodied Aston Martin V12 Zagato.
This one-off car was presented at the 2011 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, which celebrated the 50th anniversary of the iconic DB4GT Zgato. The car was awarded the “Design Award for Concept Cars and Prototypes” at the event and went into production, with 64 units being produced.
This car was one of two preproduction versions. It is the only car that is entirely made of aluminum, rather than carbon fiber and aluminum as the 64 production cars.
It was originally owned by Aston Martin, but it was sold to a respected Aston Martin client in 2016. He bought it before it reached its intended destination as part of Zagato’s collection. This customer is the only person to have owned the car beyond the manufacturer.
Original paint was Titanium Grey. However, the right-hand-drive car was repainted in Aston Martin Racing Green. The interior was also retrimmed to the tan leather trim it now has.
Although not much information is available about the car’s actual performance, there are rumors that the V12 engine of the 5.9-liter V12 has been modified to produce a little more power than the standard model’s 510 horsepower.
“We are delighted to offer this truly exceptional Aston Martin V12 Zagato for sale,” stated Tim Kearns (managing director, Bell Sport and Classic). The 64 cars are all very special, but this exceptional example is one of two pre-production cars, and the only fully-alluminum-bodied model ever produced.
“It was subject to a thorough recommissioning by Aston Martin and would make a great addition to any collection.”
