This is a radical, but fictional idea.
Last year, the Nissan Rogue, also known as the X Trail in certain parts of the globe, received a new-generation redesign. It’s still a crossover that is meant to be driven on chartered roads, and unlikely to ever touch the dirt.
Kolesa wants to change the way you see the Nissan crossover. They have a fictional Rogue concept that is ready to go offroad. The concept is accompanied by renderings, and it looks gnarly and dirty.
The extra ground clearance of this model is likely to be missed due to its beefy set if beadlock wheels and fat all-terrain tires. For added protection, the Rogue also includes front, side and rear skid plates. The Rogue also includes rear tow hooks as well as a snorkel for added functionality.
Although this is not an official concept, it’s hard to resist admiring the Rogue’s off-road capabilities. It looks ready for battle against off-road-capable crossovers such as the Ford Bronco Sport. But, we all know the Rogue needs some support inside the engine bay to fight the Blue Oval.
The Rogue is not the best choice in terms of power. The 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-pot engine produces just 181 horsepower (135 Kilowatts) & 181 poundfeet (245 Newton meters) of torque when mated with a continuously variable transmission. If I wanted to make this Nissan an off-road vehicle, I would probably add turbochargers and a torque converter automatic or manual transmission.
What do you think about this Rogue off-roader concept idea? We’d love to hear your opinions in the comments below.
