It may be a Ford Mustang dressed in Bentley clothes.

It’s a strangely primal feeling to see expensive cars get all dirty. The classic fish-out of-water motif is part of the appeal. It involves putting expensive cars in situations or environments it wasn’t meant to be. It is a combination of shock value and humor, with perhaps a little bit of respect for those who do something completely different.

This Mad Max-inspired Bentley doesn’t look like a Bentley, unfortunately. Wait, what?

Reddit has a subreddit called BattleCars where such creations can be displayed and discussed with great enthusiasm. A few days ago these photos showed up on the site, but after the initial expletives one would expect from seeing a mud-covered Bentley, more than a few people suggested this was actually a Ford Mustang with a Bentley-for-the-apocalypse body kit.

It would not be the first. StangTV featured an unidentified individual who constructed a very convincing 2016 Continental replica using an S-197 Mustang platform. It was built around 2005. It was built using a lot of genuine Bentley parts, which pushed the price to $60,000. It’s a significant investment in a car that normally sells for less than $10,000 in mint condition. However, it’s still far cheaper than the Continental’s quarter million price tag. According to the builder, the car is all-round beautiful and much less costly to maintain. In the grand scheme of things, it makes sense.

Our mud-bogging Bentley looks remarkably similar to a first-generation Continental GT, built between 2003 and 2011. Although it looks Mustang-esque from the side, there are plenty of reasons to believe this is still a Bentley. We are unsure what we are looking at due to the mud and add-ons.

We’re dealing with a Bentley Continental GT GT or a properly dressed Mustang GT. It’s still expensive, but it was recast to be able to handle the mud. That’s always cool. Let us know your thoughts on this. Is it a Mustang or a Bentley?
