ModVans Unveils Two New Clever Modular Camper Vans For 2021

The CV1/M or MH1 transport cargo or people throughout the week and then become cool campers during the weekend.

It’s not easy to fit a decent-sized bed, complete kitchen and full bathroom in a van of this size. ModVans has two new products that make it possible to keep the van functional as a work vehicle.

ModVans may sound familiar. We first met the California-based company in 2019 with their unique CV1. The CV1 is based on the full-size Ford Transit. It features a pop-up roof that provides additional space and sleeping space, while the interior has plug-and-play sections. The sections can be removed to make a cargo van or passenger van when vacation is over.

The MH1 and the CV1/M are the most recent models. They add space and features to the old formula. The CV1/M maintains the same layout and features as the CV1, but has a taller medium-roof Transit that can reach nearly six feet when the pop top is down. Attachment points on the floor are custom-designed to support everything, from a full kitchen, stove, refrigerator and sink to seating for seven people. The package includes a portable toilet and two large sleeping areas that provide comfortable accommodation for overnight escapes.

The MH1 is perhaps the most important news. The MH1 is a Ford Transit with a long roof and extended length for more space. It also features an L-shaped kitchen layout, which includes a built in oven. A fully enclosed bathroom is located across from it. It has a shower that can be collapsed electrically to make a countertop. The van’s rear has a queen-sized bed and the upper pop-top has a full-size bed. The van can store 50 gallons of water and is available with a 500-AH battery pack. All components can be taken out, just like other ModVans.

Only recently were the CV1/M and MH1 revealed. Photos of the unique floorplan for MH1 are not yet available. However, we can see the larger van in a YouTube video by Chad or Paul. Although the van looks very comfortable, its versatility is truly amazing.

All ModVans come with all-wheel drive. Customization is an integral part of the ModVan experience. The CV1/M is $89,000, although pricing may vary. The MH1 high-roof starts at $114,000 but if you are looking to upgrade, it may take a while as the company struggles to obtain new Transit vans from Ford. The #Vanlife industry is also being affected by the shortage of microchips.
