China’s Long-Wheelbase Land Rover Range Rover Range Rover Evoque L Launches

It is one of a few exclusive stretched vehicles from China.

China has long-wheelbase versions for several models. The new Land Rover Range Rover Evoque joins the fray, getting a long-wheelbase model called the Range Rover Evoque L.

The Evoque L measures 4,531mm (178 in) long and is considerably longer than its standard counterpart measuring 4,371mm (172 inches). According to the Evoque L, the longer body and wider wheelbase translate into more rear legroom. This is estimated to have increased by 125mm (4.9 in). Land Rover stated that this increase in size allows passengers to stretch further by using the electronically adjustable rear seat that can recline up seven degrees backward.

InControl OS 2.0 is also available on the Range Rover EvoqueL. According to the automaker, this humanized interface features two 10.2-inch touch screens comparable to smartphones. A 12.3-inch interactive LCD full screen is used for the instrument panel.

R-Dynamic sport kits and 20-inch wheels are standard equipment on all Evoque L models. The Range Rover Evoque L has already been sold. Its first release is priced at 430,000 Yuan, or approximately $66,450 at current exchange rates.

It is not yet clear if the Evoque L will also be available in other markets than China.

The Chinese market has a reputation for buying long-wheelbase versions a lot of cars. This is because the Chinese market requires it, so automakers have focused on producing cars for one of the largest automotive markets in the world.

The Buick Envision is now available in China in a Plus model, while the VW ID.6 was first revealed in China. Mercedes also introduced a long-wheelbase E-Class version, while the BMW 5 Series Li has been extended for People’s Republic.
