Jeep Boss Believes Ford Bronco is a Solid Competitor

In the end, consumers win.

Ford created the Bronco in order to take down the Jeep Wrangler ‘s grip on off-road space and the Jeep Wrangler . After several delays, the Bronco is now available to customers. This makes it easier to compare with the Wrangler. Christian Meunier, brand boss, said that the new Bronco keeps the brand in check. Meunier shared his thoughts on the new off-roader during a media roundtable earlier in the month.

According to The Detroit News which was present at the scrum, Meunier believes that the Bronco will “be a good competitor, and a solid competitor.” He said that the Bronco “forces” us to improve and become better, but Jeep has yet to sell any Ford vehicles. Meunier was not specific, as automakers are never precise, but he said that many things are “in the pipeline” to ensure Jeep retains its “king of hill position.”

The Wrangler Rubicon392 is a 470-horsepower, 35-kilowatt menace on large, chunky wheels. However, it doesn’t seem like Jeep had to increase its power to beat Bronco in drag racing. Jeep also opened the order books to the Wrangler Xtreme Recon package. This adds a lift kit, and 35-inch tires. It is a direct competitor for the Bronco’s Sasquatch Package and outperforms the Ford in terms of off-road specs.

Although we don’t know exactly what Jeep plans for the future, it seems like any Jeep product will prove to be a benefit for consumers. Jeep is preparing for electrification and has big plans to offer all-electric versions of every model by 2025. Engineers and designers have new options to create vehicles that can submerge themselves. Imagine how the commute would be.
