Jeep Gladiator gets Gecko Paint and Gorilla Glass as a Factory Option

Strong windshields are only $95.

Jeep has updated the Wrangler, Gladiator pickup with a bold new color. The Gorilla Glass windshield is now available to both models. This means that buyers can get it directly from the manufacturer, and not as a replacement.

Gecko green is available now for Gladiator. However, you must order quickly as Jeep will no longer offer the shade on pickups after October 2021. Bright paint is available for $245. Gecko remains an option on the Wrangler up to the end of August.

Jeep will sell the Gorilla Glass windshield as an option on Gladiator and Wrangler models. It will cost $95 each. This piece will be available on Wrangler Sport S, Sahara and Rubicon trims, as well as the Gladiator’s Overland or Mojave grades.

The same chemical strengthening process is used to make this Gorilla Glass as for panels for mobile phones screens. This sandwich is made with Gorilla Glass in its center and outer panels, which are 52 percent thicker than normal.

Jeep claims that the windshield is three times stronger than normal glass and can withstand cracks, chips, and fractures. This extra strength could prove to be a selling point for those who plan on taking their Wranglers or Gladiators off-road.

Jeep had announced the Gorilla Glass windshield replacement for Gladiator/Wrangler earlier in July. The windshields start at $793, but you can pay as much as $932 for one that includes a surround heater, forward camera, embedded antenna, and an embedded antenna. Jeep also sells the super-strong panel for its 2007-2018 Wrangler for $645.
