The World’s First Flying Car Airport opens, but you can’t fly to or from it

Urban-Air Port plans to develop over 200 locations worldwide within the next five years.

Urban-Air Port will open its first Air-One demonstration location, which showcases the future plans for a smart vertiport. Urban-Air Port is confident that its new Air-One vertiports are the epicenters for the green air transport revolution. Urban-Air Port plans to begin construction at its first location and will demonstrate the benefits of its global infrastructure for automated vertiports.

Urban-Air Port is establishing a network of Air-One vertiports across the United Kingdom. The ambitious project will be tested and analysed in real-world settings at the first Air-One Vertiport, which will be opened in Coventry. The UK government has backed this innovative project to get it off the ground. Urban-Air Port claims that their network of Air-One vertiports will enable the movement of material goods as well as people. This will help to alleviate congestion in urban areas.
This vision of the future cars is very different from the Alauda Aeronautics Mk3 flying car that focuses more on pilot engagement.

Urban-Air Port’s Air-One Vertiport is a blueprint that will guide its ambitious expansion plan to construct more than 200 additional sites around the world. Automated drones will be used to transport passengers and cargo. Companies around the world have begun to see the potential of automated drones for freight transport. This includes UPS shipping company.

These unique transport hubs are possible to fit in many unique places due to the Air-One Vertiport’s small footprint. Urban-Air Port provides a floating vertiport, called marine one, as well as skyscraper top locations called air one and terra one. Because vertiports are versatile, they can be placed in places that air travel cannot reach. This allows for greater adoption of green mass air transportation to move people and goods.

The infrastructure focus means that the new electric vertical take-off/landing (eVTOL), vehicles will soon have the support needed to become a legitimate source for green mass transportation. Ricky Sandhu, Founder and Executive Chair of Urban-Air Port, stated that “Air-One” is a historic moment. It marks the beginning of a new age in transport. This will be an age of zero-emission and congestion-free travel between cities. This will make people happier, healthier, and more connected than ever. Cars have roads. Trains have railways. There are airports for planes. eVTOLs now have an Urban-Airport.
