Toyota celebrates the 50th anniversary the iconic Corolla model with a limited-run, 50 Limited edition Axio in Japan. The special series, limited to 500 units, is based on the Standard Axio. It features a bi-beam LED headlight, a new lower grille, side skirts and 16-inch alloy wheels. LED taillights are also included. All exterior upgrades are standard. You will find unique 50 Limited badges, sports seats, and piano black interior trim when you enter the cabin. The Japanese company created a unique black-red interior color scheme to evoke the original Corolla. It covers the dashboard, leather seats, and door cards. Modern technologies were used by the Design Division to reproduce the authentic color. The special edition Corolla Axio is powered by a compact hybrid system. It includes a 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle engine, a motor, and an electric constantly variable transmission (eCVT). The system’s total output is 101 horsepower (74 Kilowatts) with 82 pound-feet (1111 Newton-meters). In 1966, the Corolla was introduced. It is currently the most popular nameplate in the automobile business. Toyota reached 40 million Corollas sold worldwide over 11 generations in July 2013.
