It’s looking great.
One of our spy photographers captured a very unique Audi A3 prototype. It was a lifted, hatchback with some visual tweaks to compare to the standard model. Although camouflaged, most modifications were easily visible. Kolesa.ru, our Russian friends, have made the car transparent to reveal all the details.
The attached gallery shows a lifted A3 with more plastic cladding and bigger wheel arches. It looks amazing and this is an accurate representation of the actual model.
The radiator grille is more prominent in the lifted model than it is on the regular model. It looks similar to the one on the Citycarver. We expect that the suspension will be raised by 35mm (2.0 inches) over the standard A3.
The A3 Allroad, or whatever Audi chooses to call it, is not difficult as its sister vehicles Skoda Octavia and VW Golf have lifted versions. Although the A3 is the most premium and expensive model, it shares many of the same MQB bones as its cheaper cousins. An all-wheel drive can be considered 99 percent certain, considering that the A3 regular model is also available with Audi’s Quattro.
The A3 can be ordered with either a turbocharged diesel or gas engine, depending on where you live. There’s also an plug in hybrid variant. The same range is expected for the lifted A3, but the 2.5-liter inline five is not on the horizon.
