The Lada Granta is a small camper that can be used as a full-fledged tent.
Lux-Form is a Moscow-based company that specializes in making compact vans and camping modules from Lada Granta. This camper is a cool little design. The Eastern European subcompact is a small car that many people are familiar with. However, the camper’s base uses a Granta truck version with a frame underneath. The Granta is used for the front, while the frame with spring suspension is used for the rear.
The camper’s builders claim that the small design allows two people to enjoy a camping vacation. This is a good thing considering it only seats two people. It measures 7.15 feet (2.178 meters) long, 5.1 feet (1.558mm) high, and 5.4 feet (1.648mm) wide. The berth is collapsible, measuring 5.1ft (1.580mm) by 6.5ft (1.980mm). The Lada is 16.4 feet (5 meters) long with the front half added in.
The living space includes space for a stovetop and sink, as well as a pantry and full bathroom. The freshwater is provided by a 18.4-gallon (77.5-liter) heated tank and a 11.8-gallon (54.5-liter) waste water storage tank. It is equipped with propane tanks, and wired for electricity.
The Lada Online will offer the tiny camper in lower trims with less equipment. Official numbers have not been released, but Lada Online suggests that such a machine will cost between $17,500 and $27,500. Although a production date has not been set, it is expected to start sometime in the near future.
