Three trim levels, one engine option
The Infiniti was introduced in the United States in 2013. It reached its peak in US sales in 2016, with 44,007 units being sold. It is no surprise that the premium sedan remains available in the SUV age eight years after its initial launch. In fact, it will be getting updated for the 2022 model-year. You shouldn’t expect much, especially not on the aesthetics. However, there are some important upgrades to the standard equipment.
You can choose from Luxe, Sensory and Red Sport 400 trims. Every Q50 includes leather seats with memory function for the driver, power-folding outside mirrors and Bose Performance Series premium sound system. The 18-inch wheels are standard on the entry-level grade, while the Sensory 400 and Red Sport 400 have larger 19-inch wheels. Only one engine option will be available for the 2022 model year. This engine is the 3.0-liter twin turbo V6 and a seven speed automatic gearbox with manual shift mode. It produces 300 horsepower (224 kilowatts) in its standard configuration and 400 horsepower (298 kW), in the Red Sport 400 trim. Customers have the option of either a standard rear-wheel drive system, or an optional AWD for each trim level.
The interior’s highlight is the wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity that can be used with all 2022 Q50s. Android Auto, however, remains USB-based. The Sensory models now have the Saddle Brown leather upholstery. The center console still features a dual-screen layout, and there is a 16-speaker system.
The price of the 2022 Infiniti Q50 is $42,100 MSRP, with the Luxe trim starting at $42,100 MSRP, and the Sensory model starting around $47,800 MSRP. The range-topping Red Sport 400 is priced at $55,950 MSRP. All three models will be available in the brand’s showrooms by the end of this month.
