Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport Allegedly Hits Corolla During Test Drive

Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport Allegedly Hits Corolla

This could quickly become expensive.

Even a small incident can grab the attention of motoring fans, especially when it comes to an expensive and rare vehicle like the Bugatti CHiron. This is especially true when the Chiron at issue is a pur Sport with a limited production run of 60 cars. A minor incident occurred in Missouri recently, but it was not the fault of a Bugatti Owner. According to reports, this was a Bugatti-owned demonstration car that was being tested. Ouch.

Some disclosure is necessary before we move on. We need to disclose some information before we go any further. A representative from a St. Louis dealership was also available to discuss the Pur Sport. It appears that the Bugatti is the same media vehicle as we drove back in February. So it could have been in transition between different locations. We will update this article if we find anything.

Here’s what we know. Reddit user MrBigpoops posted a video of a gray Chiron Pur Sport parked on the side road with a Toyota Corolla visible well off the road in the opposite direction. According the Reddit thread the accident occurred on Highway 40 in Chesterfield. Although we can’t see any damage to the Bugatti’s front fascia, the thread says there was grass and debris and the Chiron’s wheel gap appeared uneven.

The Speed Instagram post above claims to contain much more information. According to the Reddit thread, the Pur Sport hit the Toyota in the back. KRNSpeed claims that the Bugatti driver lost control of the vehicle and was speeding before the crash. However, the basis for these claims are not clear. The Instagram post is more… colorful and describes the situation. It also lists that the collision occurred on April 2, which follows the Reddit or YouTube posts of April 1. We recommend taking details with a grain of salt.

It appears that there were no injuries. The damage to both sides is minimal, as shown in the Instagram photo. Even minor damage can be costly, considering the price tag of a Chiron Pur Sport that is nearly $4 million.
