Audi will present in Geneva the third-generation TT.
Audi will present in Geneva the third-gen TT and a very powerful TT Quattro sports concept.
This concept’s highlight is the uprated 4-cylinder TFSI engine, which produces 420 HP (309kW) at 6,700rpm and 450 Nm (331 Lb-ft), of torque between 2,400 and 6,300rpm. It weighs in at 150 kg (330 lbs), and produces 210 HP/liter of displacement. This engine is even lighter than the 2001 Le Mans winner R18.
The Audi quattro sports concept weighs in at 1,344 kg (2.963 lbs). It can sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h), thanks to an S tronic dual-clutch transmission that sends output to the quattro four-wheel drive system.
The concept is stylistically distinct from the new TT with its diamond-pattern front grille and matrix LED headlights. It also features massive air intakes. The 20-inch alloy wheels come with a CFRP splitter, extended wheel arches, and a diffuser made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic. The concept is complete with a large rear wing that increases downforce and two large circular tailpipes.
The speakers and armrests have been removed from the interior cabin. In the cargo area, there’s room for two racing helmets. Audi equipped the concept with bucket seats and black four-point seatbelts. The 12.3-inch TFT digital display was also used in the revamped TT. The driver has direct access to the buttons for controlling the large screen via the red start/stop button located on the steering wheel.
Although no information is available about a production version, it’s possible that the Audi TT quattro sports concept is a preview of a future track-focused version.
