Only 30 units will be constructed.
Hennessey is a far cry from 1991 when the Texas-based company started tuning cars. It’s still producing high-powered machines thirty years later and the company celebrates the occasion with something special. The tuner will present a special Hennessey Exorcist 30-year Anniversary Edition model this year. It will be available in limited quantities and will complete the tuner’s 100 Exorcist Camaro ZL1s.
Hennessey transforms the Chevy camaro ZL1 to a beast by adding several performance upgrades. The supercharged 6.2L V8 produces 1,000 horsepower (746 Kilowatts) as well as 883 pound-feet (1.197 Newton-meters). It’s not much different from the Exorcist models. However, it can propel the coupe to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 2.1 seconds. The coupe can reach speeds of 217 mph (349 km/h), and it runs quarter-miles in 9.57 seconds at an average speed of 147 mph (236 km/h). It was designed by Hennessey to defeat the Dodge Demon.
The 30th Anniversary Edition model includes a Camaro with anniversary logos on its front fenders. Hennessey will also individualize each car with an Anniversary Edition chassis number plate. Hennessey will only make 30 of the super-fast Chevrolet. To make all the power, the car gets a powertrain overhaul, including an upgraded supercharger and a high-flow, air-induction system. Ported cylinder heads are also included.
The Hennessey Exorcist 30-Anniversary Edition Camaro is priced at $135,000 and includes the base Camaro ZL1 required for the package upgrade. Hennessey also offers a 2-year/24,000-mile warranty on the tuned Camaro. After tuning cars for 30 years, the company is now making its own hypercar, the Venom F5. We are excited to see what the next 30 year will bring for the company.
