2021 Ford Bronco owner suffers from early wear straight through soft top

It’s been four weeks since he got it and he already has problems with his roof.

Due to multiple delays, the Ford Bronco’s rollout was not ideal. Its first weeks on market were plagued by issues early adopters reported, mostly related to the soft and hard tops.

The owner of the Badlands, which he has only owned for four weeks, went to the Bronco6G forums in his grief about the fabric roofing already showing signs wear on the driver’s side. Later today, he’ll visit a Ford dealer to seek out an explanation as to why the soft top is showing signs of wear on the driver’s side.

According to his initial investigation, the problem is due to the soft top not being folded properly. It might be rubbing against plastic when it’s down. The roof folded in different ways on two occasions. This could indicate that the mechanism is not able to fold the soft-top tightly every time.

TFLtruck also have roof issues with their new $63,000 Bronco with optional molded in-color (MIC), hardtop. The vehicle is barely moving when it rattles, and the problem becomes worse when there’s uneven road surfaces. The roof was not removed from the car, but it was making strange noises and the headliner was showing signs of wear.

While the rattling stopped after the front panels were removed, it became less apparent when TFLtruck returned them. However, the problem was still present. The rear panel also made some unfavorable noises. It appears that the Bronco’s roof is its Achilles’ heel, regardless of whether it’s a soft or hard top.
