To celebrate 21 years since the launch of the first generation, Audi has introduced a limited-run 21 A8 Edition 21 model in UK.
Audi’s original A8 was released in 1994. Now, the company has created a special edition with standard and long wheelbase versions. It comes complete with all the bells & whistles. This is a variant of the SE Executive trim. It features a more luxurious cabin that Audi Exclusive has made available in two color options: black leather with red stitching and cognac brown with black stitches.
Comfort front sports seats include memory function, 22-way adjustability, and built-in pneumatic support. The black cloth headlining is included, as well as a three-spoke steering shaft. Illuminated door sill plates are also available with the “Edition 21” logo.
All cars benefit from HDD-based sat-nav and a BOSE surround sound system together with the goodies you usually get with the SE Executive models such as a reversing camera and the electrically-operated trunk lid with hands free opening and powered door closure.
It has a Sport Styling package on the exterior that makes it more like the S8. This is due to its redesigned front bumpers and rear bumpers, and prominent side sills. The 20-inch double-spoke alloys have a titanium appearance and come with privacy glass, matrix LED headlights and full LED taillights with dynamic turn signals. You have four options for exterior paints, including the Daytona gray pearl effect hue that was previously only available on the S8.
The Audi A8 Edition 21’s 3.0-liter TDI V6 engine produces 262 PS (193 kW), and a maximum torque output of 580 Nm (428 lbft). This power is channeled through an 8-speed tiptronic transmission to a quattro AWD program. It enables the full-size luxury sedan to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.9 seconds (+0.2s for LWB model) before topping out at an electronically-capped 155 mph (250 km/h).
It is already available for order with prices starting at PS72,525 OTR, while the LWB model starts at PS76,490 OTR. Audi claims that customer deliveries will begin in November.
