Chevy Corvette C8 heavily disguised in Snowy Germany

There will be some road testing before the midengine sports car goes on sales later in the year.

The Chevrolet Corvette will be coming to Germany in the next year. We reported last year that the Mid-Engine Corvette will arrive in the second half 2021. This should allow our German friends to get a taste of the American sports car.

A prototype Corvette C8 Corvette has been seen testing in Germany, amid snowy conditions. DrGumoLunatic uploaded the video and embedded it above. The video shows a heavily disguised Corvette C8 prototype, complete with black claddings, in an attempt to conceal its identity.

Although the video title suggests that the Z06 or Z08 was being tested, we disagree. The prototype spotted in the video did not have the large rocksers that were found on Corvette Z06 prototypes in US.

The video shows the one with four exhaust tips on either side. These differ greatly from the center exhaust configurations of the Z06 prototypes. Some speculate that this is the Corvette E-Ray hybrid due out in 2023. However, we aren’t counting on it.

This could be nothing more than a preview of the Chevy Corvette that will be available in Germany in the second half. According to reports, the Launch Edition Corvette will be available in Germany and Europe in the top-spec 3LT trim with a Magnetic Ride Control suspension.

The US configuration will run around $78,000. However, the Launch Edition will be available this year for EUR99,000 ($110,000 at current rates). For the coupe, it will retail for EUR99,000 ($119,000), and for the convertible for EUR106,000 ($119,000).
