Similar releases are available by Suzuki, Daihatsus And Subaru Mitsubishi just revealed the models it will be displaying at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2020 The event will be held at Makuhari Messe Convention Center between January 10-12. There will be seven custom vehicles on the stand of the Japanese manufacturer, all based upon production models.

It’s a minivan hybrid-crossover that is powered by a diesel engine of 2.2-liters. Power goes to all four wheels. The model will be available in two concepts at next year’s Tokyo Auto Salon. The first is an all-black, rugged prototype that was used during the 2019 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand. Terry Ito, a Japanese television critic and producer, has retro-remodelled the second one.

Mitsubishi’s Tokyo stand will also feature the Outlander PHEV NERV. This is a modified production Outlander PHEV that can be used as a disaster response vehicle. The features include an exterior wrap, Toyo Open Country Road R/T all-terrain tires, as well as a KYMETA u7 Planar satellite antenna that provides satellite Internet access.

The Mitsubishi eK Cross Wild Beast Concept, a rugged version of the Kei car that features a custom body wrap and roof rack, will be on display at the manufacturer. The Eclipse Cross Weekend Exploration Specification uses a similar formula but uses an off-road Air Force Suspension Japan suspension system with wirelessly controlled height levels.

It is likely that parts of the custom cars will soon be available as official equipment in production cars.
