Volkswagen officially unveils the Design Vision GTI concept at Worthersee 2013.
The concept looks sleek and sinister and is based on the Golf GTI. However, it is distinguished by an updated front fascia featuring LED headlights, front splitter, and prominent side blades. A new rear bumper, a detached C-pillar, and 20-inch alloy tires complete the car.
The cockpit is driver-oriented and features a carbon fiber dashboard that has been luxuriously covered in alcantara upholstery. You can also see the digital instrument cluster, sport steering wheel, and Porsche Cup-inspired door handle. This concept has dedicated switchgear that can turn off the Electronic Stability Control and activate the fire suppression systems. The rear seat has been replaced with an X-shaped crossmember that increases stiffness.
Twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engines produce 503 HP (370kW) and 560 Nm (413lb-ft). The engine is connected to an all-wheel drive system and a DSG transmission. This allows the concept to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. It can also reach a maximum speed of 186 mph (300 km/h).
