Another teaser shows the full face of 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning

May 19th, full debut

We are currently approximately 36 to 48 hours away, depending on where you’re reading this article. Ford will finally offer an all-electric model of America’s most beloved vehicle, the F-150.

The automaker released another teaser video with the F150 Lightning to support its big debut.

A short video from Facebook shows the EV truck front view and allows us to see the front fascia. Although there is nothing spectacular, the design appears to be at least slightly different than the combustion-powered models. The most notable feature is the fat LED strip connecting the headlights, which sits above what is probably a closed-off grille. It’s possible that the front bumper has been modified, but it’s difficult to see from this blurred clip.

Ford is keeping details about the electric F-150 secret, but we do know that the model will be on the production lines at the new Rouge Electric Vehicle Center by mid-2022. The manufacturer already has strong interest in the model, even at an early stage. Boost the planned production by 50% The zero-emission truck is expected to be priced at a lower price than its counterparts powered by combustion engines.

Tech-wise, information is even more sparse. For all-wheel drive capability, we expect multiple battery options as well as a powertrain that includes at least one electric motor per axle. Ford is aiming for a 300-mile range. Rumours even suggest a long-range version that can go as far as 400 miles on one charge. This is all speculation at the moment.

The F-150 Lightning will make its debut on May 19, at 9:30 PM EST. Keep watching for the livestream of the debut and more information about the truck.
