VW Golf Can Beat Ferrari Pista in Drag Race – If It Starts at 90 MPH

A Golf TDI can be used to produce any type of bean.

Motor1.com doesn’t break down cars according to their horsepower. We love cars that aren’t powerful but we also admire them if they are cool in other ways. We love mismatched drag races that have two or more competitors with a significantly different output. We were so excited to see the video that you are now watching, we wanted to share it with everyone.

It is from the Driven Media channel on YouTube A Ferrari Pista and Volkswagen Golf are put against each other. It’s not a Golf GTI, or a Golf R. It’s a regular diesel-powered Golf from Europe. It doesn’t have the 2.0 TDI engine, it has the smaller 1.6 TDI found in previous models. It is indeed racing Ferrari’s most powerful supercar.

The Pista’s twin-turbo V8 engine is a 3.9-liter twin turbo V8. It produces 710 horsepower (530 Kilowatts) and 568 pounds-feet (770 Newton meters) of torque. The Pista can accelerate from a standstill up to 62 miles an hour (0-100 km per hour) using a seven speed dual-clutch transmission. This allows it to accelerate in 2.85 seconds. The Pista can sprint in just 7.5 seconds from 0 to 124 mph (0–200 kph).

The Golf 1.6 TDI (video) takes nearly four times as long to reach 62 mph (100 kph) than the Pista. Given the hatchback’s low output of 103 horsepower (76 kW) 184 lbft (250 Nm), this shouldn’t surprise. It doesn’t help that the five-speed manual transmission isn’t available. It’s obvious who the winner is, isn’t it

The team decided to give the Golf an advantage in the drag race. The Pista was required to run a quarter-mile standing start, while the German car was allowed to pass the starting line at speeds of up to 90 mph (144 km/h). Even with the huge speed difference, it was still not a solid win.
