Ford Bronco Sasquatch Found Hiding Raised Roof and Off-Road Gear

This could be an overland edition.

We’ve seen many camouflaged Ford Broncos over the past few years. Many of these sightings occurred before the official Ford Bronco debut at 2020. But you’d be amazed at how many Raptor/Warthog or hybrid prototypes have we seen in public since then. There are also rare sightings such as this one.

It looks like a Bronco with the Sasquatch Pack and some accessories. It’s not a big deal so why is it covered in camouflage. These spy photos are believed to be a dedicated overlanding model. We have some evidence that supports this idea. Scrolling through our large collection of Bronco articles, we were reminded Ford’s Bronco Overland Concept which debuted in 2020. You know what? You’ll see some striking similarities between this concept (below right), and the camo-covered test car (below left).

Let’s begin at the front. The tester has a bumper guard and winch that are very similar to the concept. However, there is room for a license plate. This is significant as it indicates that this product is being produced. Although the tires are Sasquatch-spec, the wheels are new to us. They are strikingly similar to the Overland Concept’s wheels, and the roof is the same. It’s obvious that there is something underneath the tarp, and the size of the roof tent is very similar. A lightbar could also be hidden behind the roof’s front.

Other interesting areas are also worth mentioning. The snorkel that connects to the airbox is visible running up the passenger side of the B-pillar. These items are quite common on overlanding cars, but we are curious about the absence of a skid plate at the front. Trim is missing from the rockers of this test vehicle. Then there’s the fact it’s heavily covered in vinyl, not just camo, but all the way to the bottom. It’s clear that Ford is thinking beyond a few accessories.

It could be an older Ford test car that has not had its camo removed and being driven to lunch with a few friendly Ford employees. While driving by, they do not wave at the camera. This is definitely better than the camouflaged Mustang drivers offering our spy teams.

We know that new Bronco models are on the horizon, regardless of whether this Bronco is an overlanding prototype in development or a test vehicle. We know that demand for the reborn offroader is high, so it wouldn’t surprise us to see many special edition Broncos over the coming months and years.
