The most noticeable change is the one that you see right in front of yourself.
Kia announced the pricing for the Sorento model year 2022. Due to popular demand, the price of the 2022 model year will be slightly higher. The 2022 Sorento PhEV was also announced in this month’s model year update.
The 2022 Sorento’s updates aren’t visible from the outside except for the one obvious detail: the new Kia badge. The oval badge with the Kia wordmark is now available in all ranges.
Because of its popularity, Kia made the X-Line package for the Sorento EX/S trims. The Sorento Hybrid gets an all-wheel drivetrain with 19-inch wheels for its EX trim. All models starting at the S trim or higher now come standard with the 10.25-inch touchscreen that includes navigation and telematics.
The top-spec SX Prestige trim adds 14-way power-adjustable memory chairs and thigh extenders. Heating is also possible for the rear captain’s chairs.
Let’s get to the important part: the pricing. The base LX FWD model of the 2022 Kia Sorento starts at $29,000. This is $100 more than the previous model. An all-wheel drivetrain can be added for $1,800, while the X-Line AWD trim adds $2,000 – with the exception of the X-Line EX AWD which costs $3,700 more than EX FWD.
The 2022 Sorento hybrid variants start at $33,990 in the S FWD trim, while you will pay the same amount if the AWD version is chosen.
The $1,175 destination fee and handling fees are not included in the quoted prices. Interestingly, Kia has not yet revealed the price of the new plug-in hybrid EV Sorento. The new PHEV variants will be available in the SX and SX Prestige trims.
