The updated model year also includes OTA updates.
Two months ago, it was reported that the 2022 model-year of the Genesis GV80 would introduce a six-seater version. The rumors are true, as the premium brand today unveiled the 2022 HTML80 for South Korea’s market. It comes with a six-seater.
There are no changes to the front seats. However, at the back there are two separate seats separated by a huge center console that has audio controls, cup holders (with cooling and heating functions) and a wireless charger. The fourth-zone climate control allows the passengers in the second row to set their own temperature and blower speed.
There are also two screens that provide access to the main infotainment system. A new system was added to the 2022 model year that allows the climate fan to continue running for 30 minutes after the vehicle has been turned off and locked. This is because the air conditioner must be dried after each operation to prevent moisture from causing a bad odor.
The new model year will also include updates to the infotainment system using Genesis, which will allow for new functions and color themes. There will also be tweaks to the head up display. Power-operated side steps as well as a trailer hitch will be available. The four-piston brakes on the 3.5 V6 model’s 3.5 gas engine are also available.
The available powertrains are not known. There is no information on any modifications to the engines for the South Korean market. The 2022 GV80 will come in two new exterior colors, Mauna Red, and Barossa Burgundy. It will also be available with a new interior color combination of urban brown/vanilla, which will be available on its home market. The details of the US-spec model have not been released.
