Hennessey VenomF5 arrives in Monterey with striking Mojave Gold Paint

It is displayed alongside a Speed Devil Blue F5.

Although the internal combustion engine is on borrowed time, it’s still going strong. American tuner-turned-automaker Hennessey wants to show the ol’ ICE still has a lot to prove, even on the dawn of the EV era, and the new Venom F5 promises some staggering technical specifications. The Texas-based company has created a new Mojave Gold model to demonstrate that the hypercar can be more than a speed weapon.

Although the company has not said whether the vehicle is a prototype or customer car, we know that it will be displayed alongside another Venom F5 in the same Speed Devil Blue as the one used to debut the car in December 2020. Only 24 units will be produced and only a few are available for $2.1million a pop.

Due to the lack of airbags in the VenomGT’s successor, there has been a lot of controversy. It can only be registered in the United States with a show-and-display title. This means that owners can only drive it for 2,500 miles (4.023 kilometers) per year. Some would argue that these limitations do not make it a legitimate competitor to street-legal production car speed records.

Hennessey’s remarkable feat of transitioning from tuner school into hypercar maker is impressive, and we are confident that the Venom F5 will reach some amazing speeds. It will break the 300-mph mark. It is still to be seen, but the company believes its 1,817-horsepower V8 engine will reach 500 km/h, making 311 mph possible.

Hennessey will need to show the Venom F5’s capabilities, but in the meantime, we will see the Speed Devil Blue and Mojave Gold dynamic duo at Pebble Beach.
