Audi: What options would you like, sir? Customer: Yes.
Motor1.com is not your first visit. You may be familiar with our Most Expensive Series of articles where we maximize the configurator for a new vehicle. This Audi RS7 Sportback, while fully loaded cars are only possible in the virtual world, is just as real. This Audi RS7 Sportback is the most expensive A7 model ever.
In Sweden, the RS7 in its simplest form is quite costly. The price starts at 1,219 300 SEK. This is equivalent to EUR118,458 with current exchange rates. The Sportback in the US is more affordable, but still very expensive at $114,000. This matte Daytona Gray example is another option. This one is a must-see.
Auditography was able to spend quality time with the RS7, and he estimates that it is close to the EUR200,000 mark. This is nearly $235,000 and will buy you a fully-equipped V10 Performance in America, where taxes are lower than in the Nordic country that gave rise to ABBA, Spotify and Minecraft.
It’s a European-made car, so it isn’t perfect. The 591-horsepower Sportback comes with a soft limiter as well as a gasoline emissions particulate filters. This means that the V8 sound quality is not as appealing as an RS7 sold in Europe. Although the twin-turbo, 4.0-liter TFSI engine sounds a little muted, an aftermarket exhaust can fix it.
The A7 is still one of the most stunning cars available today, especially when it comes in RS7 form with all the extras. The Sportback’s matte paint, blacked out badges and many carbon fiber accents make it even more attractive, along with the optional 22-inch wheels and generous use of Alcantara inside.
The RS7 Avant is still our favorite, however, it’s still a stunning machine. It is a solid replacement for the RS6 Sedan that Ingolstadt folks had to scrap many moons back, despite rumors claiming that it would be returning for the new-generation A6 (C8).
