The Boxster GTS 4.0 can deliver impressive performance.
Porsche made the 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 with the seven speed PDK dual clutch gearbox. AutoTopNL was able to get one for performance testing.
GTS 4.0 is powered by a flat-six engine with naturally aspirated power. It produces 394 horsepower (294 kilowatts), and 309 pound-feet (419 Newton meters) of torque . The engine has a maximum speed of 7,800 rpm. Porsche claims that the PDK model can accelerate to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.8 seconds compared to 4.3 seconds for the six-speed manual.
The Boxster 25 logos in the instrument cluster and at the rear denote that this special edition model celebrates the 25th anniversary of the nameplate. Copper trim is added to the front intakes and side vents. Inside, you’ll find Bordeaux Red leather with a matching fabric soft cover. The trim is brushed aluminum.
This video shows the GTS 4.0 hitting 62 mph (100 kph), in 3.92 seconds on the first run, and 4.00 seconds on the second. The GTS 4.0 covers the quarter-mile in just 11.9 seconds, and it reaches 124 MPH (200 km/h) in just 13.53 seconds. It takes 18.73 seconds to cover a quarter-mile. It takes 23.58 seconds to reach 155 mph (250 km/h), and it takes 30.21 seconds to complete a mile.
According to GPS, the GTS 4.0 can reach speeds of 176.5 mph (284 kph). The speedometer shows 289 kph (179.6 miles) at the moment.
The GTS 4.0 models are standard with the Sport Chrono package, while PDK-equipped cars get a Sport Response button at the steering wheel. The Porsche Active Suspension Management system reduces the ride height by 0.79in (20 millimeters) compared to a regular Boxster. A mechanical limited-slip differential is also available.
It features dual-zone automatic climate control with heated front seats, automatic wipers, and auto-dimming/auto-dimming mirrors. Porsche’s Sport Seats Plus offers plenty of Alcantara upholstery.
