This is an unusual pairing.
Toyota is yet to reveal the next-generation Tundra pickup. However, there are many things we know. The exterior design was revealed by the company. It also showed off the more powerful suspension. A full reveal is expected to take place in the next few months. A new video by TFLtruck reveals that there is still some mystery around the new truck. The publication captured the Tundra being tested alongside an unusual adversary.
This video shows the truck being compared against a Lincoln Navigator The SUV is a high-end SUV, and it’s best suited to going bumper-to-bumper.
Cadillac Escalade It is more like a pickup. The Tundra is covered in thick camouflage, cladding and an upgraded rear suspension. It appears to be Limited trim. The massive wheels, possibly 22-inch units, are adorned with chrome mirror caps. We have yet to see the grille on the pickup. It can also tow a trailer.
Although it was a little strange to see the Tundra alongside such an expensive vehicle, it was not the only oddity. The TRD Pro camouflage variant was also seen, closely followed by the Ford F-150 powerBoost hybrid. Toyota may offer the next-generation Tundra with a hybrid powertrain. It is possible that Toyota will benchmark their truck against the F-150 hybrid. Ford continues to be the most-sold pickup and number-one seller in the US.
The brand’s twin-turbocharged, 3.5-liter V6 will power the new Tundra. This could explain why the Lincoln is still there. Ford has given the Navigator a turbocharged V6 engine with 450 horsepower (335 kilowatts), that powers the F-150. Toyota could compare the powertrains, or test the Tundra’s noise vibration and harshness (NVH). To find out all the details, we’ll have to wait for Toyota to reveal the truck.
