There are taillights that extend to the rear.
Next-generation Lexus LX will go on sale in. Kolesa has created renderings of the front, back and sides to help you visualize the next-generation Lexus LX.
The LX has a massive grille and complex crosspieces thanks to the renderings. Although it’s eye-catching, it might seem a little too bold for those who prefer a more conservative style. The headlights are narrow and feature arrow-shaped running lamps.
The Land Cruiser body looks identical. The rendering shows the vehicle’s full-width taillights at the rear. The rear hatch is spacious, but elegant. The LX exhausts are not mentioned by the artists, even though Lexus has never offered a fully-electric powertrain.
All signs point to the LX being very similar to the Toyota Land Cruiser. They will share Toyota’s GAF architecture.
The top model will be the LX750h, which will feature a hybrid-assisted twin turbo 3.5-liter V6. The powertrain is said to produce 480 horsepower (358 Kilowatts) as well as 642 pound-feet (871 Newton meters) of torque.
A non-hybrid version will be available lower down in the range of the twin-turbo, 3.5-liter V6. It would produce 409 horsepower (305 kW) as well as 479 lbft (650 Nm).
The new LX will, reportedly, improve the SUV’s ride quality in comparison to the current model. The latest safety technology will be added to the vehicle. Interior features include a 17.5″ infotainment screen, fingerprint scanner and engine start-up.
The LX could debut in September, and may be available in December for some markets. The Lexus version, unlike the Land Cruiser will be available in the US.
