Jeep posted acryptic image showing a trail sign featuring a vintage-looking offroader, an Arrow pointing to its rear and the number 40.4 Since then, speculation has run rampant as people wonder about Jeep’s intentions. The company has yet another teaser, but this tweet image adds to the mystery.
This tweet shows the rear end of a Wrangler, with a sticker-like license plate on the bumper that reads “47.7”. What does this mean? It could be anything, even though our guesses are as accurate as ours. They could also be indicative of something less exciting. These numbers could be indicative of a larger battery or a longer all-electric range in the hybrid-powered Wrangler 4xe. It doesn’t matter what Jeep is doing, it will make a huge difference.
These numbers are shrouded in mystery, and could be used to indicate a variety of Jeep features. The pair could be used to indicate that the SUV will get revised departure, approach and breakover angles. Or it could simply mean that the Jeep will have a new fording depth. Both numbers seem very deep considering the Wrangler’s small size. Jeep could have many things in the works that include these two mysterious numbers. We’ll keep guessing until Jeep announces something. The Wrangler will soon have a real competitor on the road. It’s not surprising that Jeep is keen to take Ford’s thunder, as the Blue Oval has had a difficult time getting the Bronco into production and missed several deadlines for deliveries. Although we don’t know exactly what Jeep is working on, there is a new rival in town. We’ll hopefully find out soon enough.
