The SUV will not be in showrooms this year.
Chevrolet revealed the first details of the 2021 Traverse in March, after the model’s highest sales year in 2019. New interior options and design updates were part of the mid-cycle refresh. However, it was not to be seen in the company’s showrooms. Chevrolet made a brief announcement that it will not be selling the 2021 Traverse during 2020. The SUV’s launch was delayed by at least several months, so there won’t be any refreshed 2021 Traverse. It’s difficult to predict when the new model will go on sale, but logic suggests that Chevrolet would likely launch the revised model in 2021. We’ll need to wait to see if the company makes any further announcements.
The new model year upgrades are mainly focused on the tech side where the Traverse receives a wider range of driver-assist system options. These include front pedestrian braking and automatic emergency braking. Safety Alert Seat is also new, but Chevy has limited that feature to Traverse Premier and High Country models. There are no reports of any mechanical upgrades at this time. This means that the family-hauler will still be powered by the 3.6-liter V6 engine and nine-speed automatic transmission.
