The Z-Adventure is available to travel anywhere.
A good fish-out of-water story is a great way to get people talking. You don’t want to build another boring vehicle or truck if you are a major tire manufacturer. You might be able to turn heads if you put the same tires on a Nissan 370Z. This one-off, rally-ready coupe was sure to turn our heads. Yokohama called this machine the Z-Adventure after it was built in collaboration with Nissan. It certainly looks ready for the end of the world. This is the result of 33-inch Geolandar T tires being installed on a two-seat sports vehicle. But this Z-Adventure doesn’t just have fat tires. This 370Z, inspired by the Rothmans Porsche 953 which blitzed Dakar back in 1984, is well-equipped to blast down trails, launch off sand dunes or, preferably, both at once.
It’s equipped with an upgraded King suspension system, custom bodywork and a lot more ground clearance. Baja-spec winches, guards, and sand ladders keep the Nissan safe in all weather conditions. Upgraded brakes can bring the Z to a halt if things get tense. You’ll find racing bucket seats inside with a four-point rollbar and six-point harness for protection. This Z high-riding machine is truly special.
We love off-road heroes, but we also love on-road performance vehicles. Yokohama is not a trailblazer in building dirt-loving versions the 370Z. We have recently featured Chris Forsberg’s epic 370Z rally vehicle tribute. But, if you look back a bit more, you might find something even more amazing. The 2018 Chicago Auto Show saw Nissan build a crazy-tracked version of the 370Z. The snowmobile was basically a car-sized version of the 370Zki, with the front wheels being replaced by skis and the back having tracks. Is the next generation Z going to get such crazy attention? truly hope so.
