Lotus Emira Sports Car with Mid-Engined Engines Debuts with AMG and Toyota Power

The top-spec version is 400 HP and can reach 180 mph.

It is not easy to replace three models of a car while also serving as the company’s last car with a combustion motor. But the Lotus Lotus 1 with its first combustion engine in over a decade seems up to the task. To make way for the Emira (a new mid-engined sportscar) that will be the last of the Norfolk combustion engines, the Elise, Exige and Evora have all been retired. It is (way), below Evija’s all-electric hypercar , which costs $2.3 million. It aims to compete with the Alpine A110 and Porsche 718 Cayman. It measures 4,412 mm (173.7 in) in length, 1,895mm (74.6 in), and 1,225mm (48.2in) in height. This makes it significantly larger than the Elise/Exige, as well as a bit more than the Evora.

The Emira also has a larger footprint than its French and German counterparts. The wheelbase measures 2,575mm (101.3 inches), which makes it longer than the Porsche 911 (the 992 generation). You are probably worried about your weight, as Lotus is all about reducing fat. The sports car weighs in at 1,405 kg (3,097 lbs) when it is at its lightest.

The Toyota origins’ 3.5-liter supercharged V6 is still in use in the Emira. It was also used extensively in the Exige, and Evora. A turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine, also from AMG, is what’s underneath the hood. AMG also supplies V8 engines for Aston Martin.

It is the M139 unit that’s found in the AMG 45 models. This unit can produce up to 416 horsepower in Affalterbach compact cars. The new Lotus will only allow the highest-powered four-pot to be installed in a production vehicle with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. This is similar to the AMGs. You can choose between manual or automatic gearboxes if you opt for the Toyota-sourced powertrain. Lotus does not reveal the power of each engine, but it says that the Emira will have between 360-400 horsepower and a maximum torque output of 430 Newton-meters (317 pounds-feet). The fastest and most powerful engine will reach 62 mph (100 km/h), from a standstill, in under four and a quarter seconds. It can also top out at 180 miles per hour (290 km/h). The Emira, pronounced “Eh-meerah”), is a stunning rear-wheel-drive coupe that was designed to be a global model. The Emira boasts modern styling and sleek LED headlights that are similar to the Evija.

The interior is where the Emira really shines, compared to previous models thanks to a high tech dashboard. The interior features a 12.3-inch digital driver’s screen and a 10.25 inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. It also has Android Auto integration and Apple CarPlay integration. You will find everything you need, from automatic windshield wipers and cruise control to ambient lighting and 12-way electrically adjustable seating.

The Emira is the most feature-rich Lotus ever produced. It features front and rear parking sensors as well as electric folding mirrors, curtain and airbags, keyless access, keyless go and an auto-dimming reverse mirror. The Emira even comes with a theft vehicle tracker and, if you add the Lotus Drivers Pack, a launch control system. This optional kit includes a stiffer suspension and replaces the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport tires. It also comes with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s to fit all models of the sports car’s 20-inch wheels.

The British-made Emira will go on sale in summer 2022. It will be priced at less than PS60,000 in the UK, and less than EUR72,000 for European markets. The flagship model will also be offered as a fully loaded “First Edition”, equipped with the supercharged V6.
