It’s been a while since the new 1Serie was announced by BMW. The unveiling of this updated entry-level model will take place later in the year. New details about the M140i’s lesser-known models have been revealed. These will likely be the bread-and- butter models.
According to Auto Express The base 1 Series model will be a three-cylinder, 118i with a turbocharged 1,5-liter gasoline engine that develops 138 horsepower. This is an increase of 4 horsepower over the previous model. It was complemented by a seven speed dual-clutch auto transmission. The old model took 8.7 seconds to do the 0-62mph (0-100 km/h) task with the automatic.
The new BMW 1 Series 120d will feature a familiar 2.0-liter engine with 190 horsepower. The output will be sent to the front wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch automated transmission.
A electrified version will also be available for the Bavarian compact Hatchback. It will use an upgraded powertrain from the MINI Cooper S E Countryman.
