The new Honda Ridgeline was unveiled last year. A report suggested that Honda would opt for the aggressive styling of the unibody truck in order to gain more market share from the truck-loving Americans. The Japanese automaker is said to be sending the aggressive design, especially with its SUVs, to compete with the rest of Honda’s range .
Here’s an unofficial rendering of what it would look like on a Honda Passport. It is worth noting that the next version has been seen in public.
The rendering set above visually shows how Ridgeline’s nose might look when it is directly applied to a Passport. The Passport has a smaller grille mesh than the truck to give it a more relaxed, but still powerful, appearance that suits the family hauler.
The main change is the new square-off grille shape. This is in contrast to the current wing grille. Redesigned hood makes the hood appear more upright. Although the headlights remain the same, the bumper vent accents and fog lights have been lifted directly from Ridgeline.
Honda is still mum on the arrival of the next Passport, but the prototype sightings suggest that Honda may be in the final stages. The launch of the 2022 model year’s crossover is possible later in the year. An Honda Trailsport logo trademark filed was also spotted in April. This could indicate that the upcoming trim aligns with Honda’s goal to be tough.
While we wait for official word, let us know what you think of this Passport’s macho design execution. Is the Ridgeline nose a good fit for the crossover? We’d love to hear your comments in the comment section below.
