Many reports have been made about the GT-R’s evolution for the R36-gen model. However, there are rumors that Nissan plans to make some final changes to the car. The latest information suggests that the twin-turbo V6 will get a mild hybrid setup thanks to a 48-volt starter. It will make the VR38DETT engine more efficient and allow it to meet stricter emission regulations. Rumours suggest that the slightly electrified powertrain will replace the gasoline-only GT-R in 2022, and continue to serve its purpose for at least another two years. Nissan introduced the latest update to the R35 in April. It was a US-spec GT-R Nismo Special Edition. This edition features a clear-coated carbon-fiber hood with exposed weave. The built-to-order supercar, which is shown here in Stealth Gray, rides on 20-inch Rays-forged aluminum wheels. The car is also available in Japan, so the livestream will focus on something else.
