2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS Pricing Revealed, Less Than An S Class

The top-of-the-line version is $125,310

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz-Benz EQS starts at $102,310, plus a $1.050 destination fee when it arrives in the US in the fall. We now have American pricing information for the flagship EV, the smooth exterior styling with high-tech interior.

The EQS can be purchased in three trim levels: Exclusive, Premium, and Pinnacle. The single-motor rear-drive 450+ has 329 horsepower (245 Kilowatts) and 406 pound-feet (551 newton meters). The dual-motor, all wheel-drive 580 4Matic makes 516 horsepower (385 kW), and 611 lb-828 Nm. Both come with and a 107.8-kilowatt hour battery pack.

Mercedes does not yet have EPA-estimated ranges, but the WLTP test showed that the most efficient model can travel 487 miles (784 km). The American ratings will be closer to launch.

The entry-level 2022 Mercedes S-Class starts from $109,800, before destination. The base EQS $74,490 is therefore less expensive than the venerable luxury sedan.

Standard equipment on the 450+ includes a 12.8-inch portrait-oriented infotainment display. Customers can choose the 580 4Matic to get the stunning 56-inch Hyperscreen screen. It has three screens within one glass bezel. The smart navigation system on both systems can automatically plan charging stops and routes, as well as take into account topography, route, temperature and speed.

Each powertrain comes with Mercedes’ complete suite of driver assistance features. The advanced version of cruise control can maintain the vehicle in one lane and keep it at a predetermined distance from other motorists. The EVs can also receive parking assistance with a surround view camera system.

Base Premium grade features heated and ventilated front chairs, an opening panoramic roof and Burmester sound system. It also has 64-color ambient lighting.

The Exclusive trim adds heating and massage to the front seats. A head-up display is also available. These models feature the Air Balance cabin scent system with a HEPA filter, four-zone climate control, and a HEPA filter.

Pinnacle, the range-topping Pinnacle, places a strong emphasis on the rear passengers. Back passengers get power-adjusting seats that have heating, ventilation, and additional-padded Comfort headrests. The center armrest also has a wireless charging pad.
