This is a little scary.
It is always a nervous affair to watch cars race down sections of the German Autobahn. These videos are a little surreal because Americans aren’t used to such disciplined driving. MotorOliTV’s new video adds an extra layer of terror. It shows a night-time Autobahn run, traveling at night at 210 mph (338 km/h) in a supercharged Audi R8 GT .
The tuned R8’s V10 is supercharged and produces 810 horsepower (531 Kilowatts) as well as 604 pound-feet (6720 Newton-meters). It can reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.0 seconds, while it takes 8.2 seconds to hit 124 mph (202 km/h). How much? The cost? EUR293,890 (or 345,184 at the current exchange rate). There are many visual upgrades to the car, but they all aim to improve the supercar’s ability around the track.
Near the end of the video, you will see the nighttime section. It shows the Audi speeding by cars in the right lanes while it cruises past at well above 100 mph. The V10’s roar is audible and the road becomes clear for the driver to hit the accelerator. The car is driving its headlights out, making vehicles in the right lanes appear quickly before disappearing.
Safety driving is all about visibility, so this high-speed run seems a little too risky. The video is still thrilling to see. The supercars are capable of delivering a lot of power, but they rarely get used due to various laws and regulations. These sections, which are unrestricted, are the only public areas where supercars can show off their true power. It is quite brave to do it at night.
