Mini’s Taillights are Pointing the Wrong Direction, We All Recapitated It

It’s so easy to see it!

It shouldn’t seem like a huge deal to use turn signals. It only has one job, and that is to show other road users where it’s going. It’s easy, straight-forward, and without fuss. But Jalopnik’sJason Torchinsky says there is one brand that does it wrong. This brand is MINI.

What is the problem with Mini’s turn signal? Jalopnik reports that some Mini’s turn signals are not working correctly. As the tweet below shows, the Countryman may be the worst offenders.

The left turn signal seems to point to the right. It’s actually the opposite of what turn signals should do. It looks like an arrow because of the taillight pattern, Jalopnik explains. We all know that it is patterned after Union Jack.

It was funny that Mini had something to say about “opposite arrow” after Jalopnik reached to the brand. Below is the response from the press office to the inquiry.

Mini chose the Union Jack lights as a way to celebrate its British heritage. They have been using them for quite some time. Drivers should not have any difficulty understanding the turn indicator lights pattern when looking at the entire rear of the vehicle.

Mini has not received any complaints from customers about the rear turn indicators and has actually received positive feedback regarding the taillight design.

It may be accidental, but it is difficult to see, especially after being pointed out. Although there may have been others who noticed it, it is probably the first time that anyone has publicly voiced their concern. Mini is a bit more playful with light clusters, but that’s a compliment. Mini is known for being playful.
