Japan Gets A Rad Toyota RAV4 Offroad Rescue Vehicle Concept

This Toyota can help you if things go wrong while hiking.

To see a more rugged version of the Toyota RAV4 Mountain Rescue concept, Japan’s Motor1.com has launched it. The vehicle was initially meant to be unveiled at the 2021 Tokyo Auto Salon, but it was made available online.

Mountain Rescue’s front has a matte black finish with red tow hooks on the A-pillars. Roof racks have LED spotlights on all four sides and an emergency light bar. The body is in a light blue color with light gray graphics. Running boards allow you to enter the cabin.

It appears that the suspension is a bit higher than a stock RAV4. Off-road tires can also be wrapped around black wheels with complex spoke patterns.

To perform life-saving tasks, the vehicle can carry a lot of equipment. There are many attachment points for Lidar and cameras, as well as speakers, lights, and speakers.

This concept will be presented by Toyota to the public at Takaoka in Japan’s Toyama Prefecture on Wednesday, March 13. According to Car Watch Impress, this area experienced record-breaking snowfall in January which caused many vehicles to get stuck. The area is seeing increasing demand for SUVs, so Toyota chose to launch the vehicle there.

Although the Mountain Rescue concept is a concept, you won’t see it on the road. The RAV4 TRD Off-road has a similar recipe but without the life-saving gear or emergency lights. The suspension has been updated with new shocks and springs. There are also revised bump stops. The 18-inch matte black wheels come with Falken Wildpeak Trail tires in matte black. They have a custom tread pattern and compound made for this application. There is SofTex upholstery inside and all-weather flooring mats.
