It is much more elegant and sophisticated than the current model.
Honda has begun work on the next-generation CR-V. This vehicle is one of the US’s most-sold vehicles and it appears that it will be receiving a major update over the fifth-generation model. We have seen the latest spy shots of the crossover and it is more detailed than ever. Motor.es has provided a new rendering that allows you to see what the crossover could look like once Honda unveils it.
The CR-V’s completely redesigned styling cannot be hidden by camouflage. We have seen it in action in the last batch of spy photographs. This rendering converts what we can see to a cross-resolution rendering, which portrays the model as having an older design. The CR-V is longer than the current model and has a longer front and rear overhang. The front is more square and less angular. Meanwhile, the chrome strip connecting the headlights to the trapezoidal grille spans the narrow-slit. The lower grille opening is flanked by sleek fog lights.
This rendering shows the front three-quarters of the model, but we cannot see the rear. Spy shots show that the CR-V will have a more subtle rear-end design. Camouflage has been used to cover the rear taillights. We don’t know what they will look like on the new model. However, we expect a more refined design, much like the updated Civic by Honda.
We don’t know the exact powertrains or engine that will power the next-generation CRV-V. Spy photos have revealed that the car has twin exhaust pipes. This suggests it is powered by a combustion engine. However, we expect Honda will offer electrified versions with an electric version, which is supposedly due to arrive later in its lifespan. Honda could offer a three-row version of the next-gen CR-V due to its larger footprint. The current US model is only five-seat, but a seven-seat version is available in certain markets.
We expect Honda will unveil the new CR-V next spring before it is likely to go on sale in the USA as a 2023 model.
