10 searing flames never looked so cool.
It’s time to do something totally different and absolutely amazing. This fire-breathing fire table is not completely new – although we had something similar a few months back, this latest creation is quite different in terms of appearance, and firepower. We have a V10 engine from a 2002 Dodge Viper that has been repurposed for a backyard fire pit with flames coming out of all cylinders. It’s more than just that.
Alaris Invent is a custom-made creation by John Cobb, an automotive artist. He explained that it was his most ambitious project, and not just to create another engine-based table with flames. Each cylinder is equipped with its own igniter and burner, but all igniters can be operated from one key at the end of the table, keeping in line with the car theme. The same goes for all burners. They are fed propane using a single gas pedal. In this instance, it is a pedal that looks very much like a Viper. The table works flawlessly, as the video above shows. it can roar the flames.
Another aspect of the build was to produce a sophisticated, clean product. The V8 fire table featured strong rat rod overtones. The new Viper table is all contrasting shades in black and silver. The legs and supports for the upper table were provided by connecting rods and pistons. Temperatures were carefully monitored throughout the design and testing phases to ensure that everything can withstand heat. There’s more!
The video and pictures clearly show that this table is joined together by two racing seats, each with a console in the middle. The seats are mounted on special platforms that allow them to recline 180° in keeping with the racing theme. The propane tank is stored in the center console. There are also built-in cupholders so you can relax by the fire while sipping a refreshing beverage. This table can be used indoors and outdoors. A set of removable rollers makes it easy to move the rig from one place to another. Indoor operation requires proper exhaust ventilation.
Cobb made the V8 fire table for his customer. However, this one was created for him. He estimates that it took five months to complete, and he was nervous about spending the money and time without a buyer. The worries were quickly forgotten as a Viper enthusiast claimed the table within one week, even though it had not been officially advertised. Cobb claims he can make another one for $11,500. This seems like a deal, considering Cobb’s time, talent, and uniqueness.
